OCD and for that matter any other mental illness are not taken serious enough. This is mostly because people are not educated on how these illnesses are a battle.

A girl's personal experience with anti-depressants A news article that I found very interesting, yet not surprising.. Take a look at how past generations were not as anxious as we are now a days.
http://greatist.com/grow/how-much-anxiety-is-normal "We don’t let kids get away from adults these days. Parents are always running interference, breaking up fights, preventing anyone from climbing a tree too high or getting lost,” Gray says. “As a result, kids don’t have the opportunity to learn how to deal with the frustration, anxiety, fears, or trouble that arise from these sources and solve their own problems.”" This Washington post article, "I have anxiety. Here’s how I’m trying not to transfer that to my kids anymore."may interest you...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/parenting/wp/2015/11/04/i-have-anxiety-heres-how-im-trying-not-to-transfer-that-to-my-kids-anymore/ "I think we all know someone who you'd call a worrier or an overthinker. It seems like they take forever to figure out what they need to do. They might frustrate us, but according to a recent study, people with these traits often have them because they're incredibly developed, creative people."
An article that may interest some of you http://www.higherperspectives.com/new-research-says-overthinking-worriers-are-probably-creative-geniuses-1429984438.html This comic displays anxiety to someone who may not understand how consuming it can be in a day to day life.
"Life is toughly darling, but so are you!"
Found this just as I was scrolling through my twitter feed. Thanks @RecoverClinic for sharing this i couldn't resist posting it! This is one of the 'ugly' Christmas sweaters that can be found on the shelf at Target. It reads, 'OCD Obsessive Christmas Disorder' For someone battling OCD this is something that most definitely would not make them feel better. OCD or any other mental illness is not a joke and I can't believe that a store like Target would put something out like this... People have started posting all over social media and the tweets below caught my eye.
"as someone with OCD I'd really appreciate it if you didn't sell my illness as a fashion statement" "they're selling these at target and as someone who has struggled with OCD for six years im pretty pissed off" Check out more to the story at http://fortune.com/2015/11/12/target-ocd-sweaters/ Amanda Palmer: The Art Of Asking A book that I have just started reading and cannot wait to finish as I am already hooked! Amanda teaches you to not be afraid to ask... for anything especially help when you need it check out her website at; http://amandapalmer.net and the Ted Talk I have posted below.. "Worry does not empty
tomorrow of it's sorrow; It empties today or it's -Strength-" - Leo Buscagila This clip shows how lonliness feels to the elderly in the U.K.
